Space Shuttle Route, Street Closures, Viewing Areas

The Space Shuttle Endeavour will travelling through Inglewood and Los Angeles on October 12 and 13 as it winds its way from LAX to its’ final resting place at the California Science Center.

Many streets will be closed and crowds are expected to line the streets to view the once in a lifetime opportunity.  Fortunetly, there will be stops along the way and public viewing areas to see the enormous space craft.

Street Closures for Space Shuttle

October 11 (10p-6a)

  • Northside Pkwy between Westchester Pkwy and Lincoln Blvd
  • Westchester Pkwy between Lincoln Blvd and La Tijera Blvd
  • La Tijera Blvd between Westchester Pkwy and Sepulveda Blvd

October 12 (4a-5p)

  • La Tijera Blvd between Sepulveda Blvd and Manchester Ave

October 12 (12p-5p)

  • Manchester Ave betweeb La Tijera and Aviation

October 12 (8p to Oct 13 8p)

  • Crenshaw Blvd between Vernon and MLK
  • Martin Luther King Jr Blvd between Crenshaw and 4th

October 13 (10a-3p)

  • Crenshaw Blvd between 80th St and Vernon

October 13 (4p-10p)

  • Martin Luther King Blvd between 4th and Bill Robertson
  • Bill Robertson Lane between Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and Exposition Park

Space Shuttle Viewing Areas

  • Forum – Oct 13 from 8a-10a.  Free parking at the Hollywood Park Race Track.  No overnight stays and the lot opens at 4am
  • Crenshaw and MLK – Around 2p the shuttle will stop for half an hour and the public can view from a dedicated area north on Crenshaw from MLK
  • Bill Robertson Lane – On Oct 13, the shuttle will reach its final destination.  Four parking lots have been set up to watch the shuttle roll up to the California Science Center..  It should arrive around 8:30pm.  Use of the Expo Line is recommended.
