45 year old Alfonso Cerda is dead after being hit by a Sheriffs patrol car Monday morning.
The collision happened around 1:25am. Cops say they were trying to stop Cerda near 107th and Yukon because they believed he was armed with a handgun.
The Los Angeles Times reports the handgun was not located as of Monday morning.
