WILSHIRE BLVD BOMB SCARE, SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE, POLICE ACTIVITY

Update 11:23am

The bomb scare / suspicious pacakge situation at the KNX building on Wilshire Blvd in Miracle Mile is now over.

It turned out to be a promotional clock that was mailed to KTWV from BET.

Update 10:56am

The bomb squad is still on the scene of a suspicious package at the KNX radio building on Wilshire Blvd in the Miracle Mile.

Wilshire remains open, but the side streets around the building, including Masselin and Hauser are closed.

Reports of a “ticking” or “beeping” package came in around 8:30am and the entire building at 5670 Wilshire was evacuated by 9am.

Update 10:12am

The bomb squad is now on the scene of a suspicious package at the KNX radio building on Wilshire Blvd in the Miracle Mile area.

Wilshire Blvd remains open, but the areas around the bulding on Masselin and Hauser are closed off.

Police are investigating a suspicious package at 5670 Wilshire Blvd  (Wilshire at Masselin) in the Miracle Mile area.

The device was first located around 8:24am and by 9am the entire building was evacuated.

Wilshire Blvd appears to be open, but the area around Hauser is blocked off.

@ktlagingerchan reports that MTA has not diverted Wilshire buses yet.

Eric Spillman from KTLA reports that the package was sent to a personality at one of the radio stations housed in the building.

Total Traffic affiliate KNX is now simulcasting with their sister station KCBS in San Francisco while the investigation continues.
