Three Dead after Fatal Studio City Crash in to Pizzeria on Venutra

Three people are dead after a crash on Tujunga Blvd in Studio City.

The crash happened around 3:30am near the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Tujunga Ave when the driver of a BMW lost control of fthe car.  It hit two tress and then broke a gas line that was leading in to a pizza parlor.

That caused the restaraunt to burst in to flames.

Brian Humphrey of LA Fire says it took 52 firefighters just over 20 minutes to put out the fire.  He says three people died at the scene of the crash.

Friends of the driver told KTLA Channel 5 that he had been headed home from a birthday party at Romonov Restaraunt.   They felt he was too drunk to drive and said they should have stopped him from getting behind the wheel.

Two male victims lived in Los Angeles and the third female had come in from New York ffor the party.

Ventura Blvd remained closed for several hours.
