210 Bear Tranquilized in Montrose, Returned to Angeles National Forest

A bear that wandered on to the 210 freeway this morning in Montrose has been returned to the Angeles National Forest.

LA County Sheriffs first got word of the animal around 7:30am in the area of Montrose Dr and Florencita Lane, according to the Glendale News-Press.

CHP ended up having to close the 210 freeway after it climbed on to the freeway.  It then wandered off in to a residential area.

Several cops, a helicopter and canine unit all responded to the area to take care of the bear situation.

The animal was returned to the Angeles National Forest after being shot with a tranquilzer around 10:30am.
