91 CLOSED AT GREEN RIVER IN CORONA DUE TO POLICE ACTIVITY

Update 5:15 p.m.

All lanes on the 91 and 71 are now open. No further closures are planned.

Eastbound is still slow from Lakeview to Green River, with the westbound slow from the 15 to the 71.

Update 4:55 p.m.

Here’s a view of the 91 at Green River. Talk about no traffic!

4:33 p.m.

All lanes on the 91 in both directions have closed again.

The 71 at the 91 remains closed as well.

4:20 p.m.

The 91 Freeway in both directions will temporarily re-open for about 15-20 minutes to help with the traffic congestion. Lanes in both directions will close again for about 15-20 minutes.

4:05 p.m.

The 91 is now closed in both directions at Green River Rd.

Eastbound traffic is heavy from Imperial Hwy to Green River Rd, with westbound traffic slow from Serfas Club Dr to the 71.

The 71 South before the 91 remains closed.

Use the 60 for an alternate.

Authorities were investigating a U-Haul truck which was stationary at a Corona parking lot for two days.

A remote-controlled robot was brought in to investigate. The robot smashed the side window of the truck to allow police to get a better view of the inside.A hazardous-material team was also called in to investigate.

A body was eventually found in the cab of the truck, with firefighters removing the body from the vehicle, according to Total Traffic affiliate ABC7.

3:40 p.m.

The 91 Freeway is closed in both directions in Corona due to police activity.

Westbound traffic on the 91 is being taken off at Maple St. and eastbound traffic is being taken off at Coal Canyon Road.

The 71 Freeway has also been shutdown at Euclid Avenue.

It’s not known how long the closure will be in effect.
