KTLA is reporting that there may be two fatalities.
It also appears as if CHP suspects a drunk driver may have been involved as a blood technician was summoned.
The accident was at Mountain but they’ve set up a hard closure and are diverting traffic off at Baseline.
Just use the 10. Seriously.
210 EAST is still closed… and Angel Martinez advises us delays still from Fruit. Trust us…use the 10.
One fatality confirmed but KCAL 9 reports some passengers are unaccounted for.
Angel Martinez in our Total Traffic war room just gave some bad news. There was one fatality and now it looks like lanes may be closed until after midnight.
210 EAST remains closed. CHP says you can use Baseline to parallel the freeway but the preferred alternate is the 10.
The 210 freeway is not expected to reopen until at least 8:30pm
All lanes of the 210 EAST at Mountain in Upland are closed after a big rig caught fire.
Reports started coming in to CHP shortly after 6pm about a semi truck engulfed in flames and about to explode. Some cars were trying to use the carpool and right lane to pass.
When CHP rolled up on scene they immedietly ordered the freeway shut down and traffic diverted at Mountain and Baseline.
As of 6:25, the fire appears to be under control, and westbound traffic is allowed through.
